yes,, in lower division games,, there is a scandal going on in Germany right now where players and refs were involved, and now is possibly reaching out as far as Greece lower divisions... However in World Cup Qualifying games where Fifa is involved,,, not a chance.. I feel sorry for those that lost money reading that post.

I think there are plenty of gentleman's agreements as AA brought up, just so easy though to start up a rumor. I could make one up with a couple of phone calls and carefully placed posts in a few boards and then bet it the other way just before the game went off with a much improved line.

There have been many scandals, particularly in Italian soccer, that prove fixed games exist whether you want to believe it or not.

Being in a FIFA tornament is no guarentee, think back to '78 World Cup and Argentina/Peru.
